Preventive Dental Care

“Better to prevent than to cure”

Well, practicing preventive dental care measures can make your little one’s life cavity free with a happy and healthy smile.

Oral Prophylaxis

Oral prophylaxis or teeth cleaning includes removal of biofilm and plaque (bacteria and food debris) that can’t be removed by conventional brushing.

We Prefer using a plaque detector solution to be applied to the teeth prior to cleaning in order to make the patient/parent aware about the plaque deposition.

For most of the kids teeth cleaning is done with hand instrument to make the procedure painless and comfortable.

Depending on the teeth condition polishing or remineralizing cream application may be advised along with teeth cleaning.

We recommend regular professional cleaning for children with mixed set of milk and permanent teeth to prevent build-up of plaque thereby help to keep the gums healthy and the teeth cavity-free.

Pit and fissure sealants

Pit fissure sealants for kid decay teeth treatment in Bangalore

What are sealants?

Sealants are safe and painless way of protecting your little one’s teeth from decay.

Pit and fissure sealants are made of a safe resin material which is applied to the deep and narrow surfaces of the back teeth.

What is the purpose?

By forming a protective coating sealants prevent the food and bacterial accumulation in the tiny grooves of back teeth and thereby prevent teeth decay.

Which teeth should be sealed?

Sealants are only applied on the chewing surface of back teeth ( primary and permanent molars, premolars).

Some back teeth naturally have more retentive pits ( small holes ) and fissures (grooves). To prevent decay these pits and fissures must be sealed prior.

What is the procedure?

There is no drill & fill only sealing of the deep and narrow surface of the teeth.

The tooth is thoroughly cleaned, prepared with a special solution, dried and finally sealant is applied and made to set using a special light device.

Topical fluoride Application

Fluoride application is a vital component of preventive paediatric dental care.

Fluoride is a natural substance that helps strengthen teeth and prevent decay.

The fluoride is applied in a gel, foam, or varnish form.

Fluoride varnish is the most common, safe and effective modality of fluoride delivery.

Based on your kid’s teeth condition and caries risk associated as examined by our specialists , frequency of fluoride varnish application is decided.

Benefits of Fluoride Varnish

Appropriate application can cause reversal of early carious (decay) lesions that appear as white spots there by prevent further progression of decay and need for restorative treatment.
